  1. At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
  2. On the right side of the path row, click pen.svg Edit.
  3. In the Build your training section, click Configure settings.

Require learners to follow steps in order

Enable Linear progression to require learners to complete steps in the order defined in Build your training, top to bottom. Disable it to let learners complete steps in any order.

Learners who try to access a course from the catalog are redirected to complete it in the path context.

If a linear path contains courses that are part of an equivalency pool, learners who completed an equivalent course have those steps marked as Waived automatically.

Linear progression only controls step order and does not determine whether steps are required. To allow a step to be skipped, see Mark a step as optional →.

Activate or deactivate mandatory replay

See Activate or deactivate mandatory replay →

Display an estimated duration

Enable Estimated duration to show a duration estimate on the path homepage. This is not computed automatically.

After enabling:

  1. Select a duration type: Month(s), Week(s), Day(s), Hour(s), or Minute(s).
  2. Enter a number.
  3. Click outside the field to save.

Display an estimated weekly commitment

Enable Estimated weekly commitment to show a weekly commitment estimate on the path homepage. This is not computed automatically.

Show or hide the path forum

Enable Path forum to show the forum and reactions on the path. Disable it to hide them. Learners must be enrolled in a path session to see its forum.

Send automated reminders to inactive learners

Enable Send automated reminders to send reminder emails to learners who have been inactive in the path for 2 days, then again after 7 days.

Show classroom slot messages on the path homepage

Enable this option to show classroom slot messages on the path homepage to learners not registered to any slot. Disable it to hide the message for unregistered learners.

Share a path in the Library

See Share a path in the Library →

Add additional path or session information

The Additional path information and Additional session information fields store free-text data (registration number, ID in another tool, etc.) available in CSV exports and the API. Learners cannot see this information.

Notify learners when new content is added

When enabled, adding a step to a published path resets its status to "On time", moves it back to learners' My Work section under Ongoing, and sends them an email notification.
