This glossary describes key concepts, features, and terminology used throughout 360Learning.

Definitions are purposely vague. Read the articles about a specific action to understand the nuances, edge cases, exceptions, and consequences.

Term Definition
Activity A building block of a course: an individual frame containing a document, cheat sheet, question, or recording.
AI Smart Review AI-powered feature for reviewing learner Video Pitch and Screencast Demo submissions.
Audience Builder Tool for defining learner enrollment groups based on criteria such as role, group, or custom field.
Catalog A group's collection of content (courses, paths) available for learners to access freely at any time. Not to be confused with the Library.
Classroom A live training event within a path, delivered virtually or onsite, with one or more scheduled slots.
Classroom slot A scheduled occurrence of a classroom, defined by its date, time, and location or virtual meeting link.
Coach's Library The Library as seen by coaches: a shared repository of content available to build paths or share to catalogs.
Coaching Solution Solution that includes video-based activity types: Video Pitch, Screencast Demo, and AI Smart Review.
Completion Rate Percentage of learners who completed a course started in the last 12 months.
Course An e-learning content object built in 360Learning, made up of activities. Does not apply to SCORMs.
Curated Programs Feature for integrating third-party learning content from providers such as Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, and Skillsoft.
Custom Reports Customizable reporting dashboards for tracking learning analytics.
Data Connect Snowflake-powered data warehouse giving direct SQL access to raw learning analytics data.
Delete an account Despite the label, this deactivates the account rather than deleting it. Data is retained and the account can be reactivated.
Extended Academies Feature giving groups a distinct branded experience: custom colors, domain, and self-registration.
Globalization Solution enabling content translation and multi-language support across the platform.
HCM Integrations Third-party applications offering user and learning statistics synchronization with 360Learning.
Learning Need Feature allowing users to request learning content (a course or path) from their group.
Library A group's shared repository of content for editors and coaches to build paths or share to catalogs. Not to be confused with the Catalog.
Lowest private common ancestor The lowest private parent group shared by all groups a user belongs to.
Member A user assigned to a group with a role.
Mandatory Replay Setting that forces learners to replay a course or path when re-enrolled.
Manager Dashboard Dashboard section showing learning statistics for a user's managees.
Newsfeed The chronological timeline of posts, comments, and new learning content in a group.
Open Registration A learner enrolling in a path on their own, rather than being enrolled by a trainer.
Participant A learner who has clicked Start on the first module of a course or path.
Participation Rate Percentage of learners invited to a course who started it within the last 12 months.
Pass Rate Percentage of certificates obtained within closed courses during the last 12 months.
Path A training object made up of steps (courses, classrooms, other paths, assessments) guiding learners through a topic.
Path session A specific instance of a path with a defined start date and optional end date, used to enroll learners and track progress.
Platform group The top-level group of a 360Learning platform, parent to all other groups.
Reaction Learner feedback on a course after completion: I like it, I learned something, This is outdated, or I didn't get it.
Reaction Score Metric quantifying course quality based on learner reactions.
Screencast Demo Activity type in which learners submit a screen recording to demonstrate knowledge.
Session Either a path session (a path instance with a defined time range) or a browser session (a continuous period of connection).
Session instructor Not a role. Any member assigned as instructor of a path session can edit sessions they have access to but cannot create new ones.
Skills Feature for defining, mapping, and tracking employee competencies and skill development.
Subgroup A group lower in the hierarchy than its parent group.
Video Pitch Activity type in which learners submit a video response to a prompt.
Widgets Customizable sections on home and group pages that can be added, removed, reordered, and configured.
