Any user can ask a question in the search bar about the contents of the platform.
- At the top of the page, on the right of the search bar, click the
circle icon.
A panel titled Companion will appear on the right, with the answer to the question, and the links to the courses it used as a source.
The Companion will also ask a follow-up question. You can use the messaging interface to refine your original question or ask for details.
If the question is about a widely known topic, the AI Companion may answer without quoting its sources (although we always recommend double-checking the information).
Answerable content
The AI Companion answers using the text in course activities (cheat sheets, question titles, and body), paths, auto-generated video transcripts, course titles, and summaries. Information contained within documents or SCORM courses is not used.
The answer takes into account visibility rules: you will only be able to access information from courses and paths that you can see, and from groups you belong to.
The AI Companion cannot answer questions about topics outside the strict contents of the platform. In particular, the AI Companion cannot answer questions about users or about how to create a path within the platform.
Limitations
- The AI Companion only has access to courses published to the group catalog. Unpublished courses will not appear in its search results.
- Users can send up to 100 messages per day to the AI Companion.
- Every input you send counts as one message, no matter the length or content (for example, “hello,” “yes,” or “How many learners completed the path?”).
- The limit resets at 12:00 AM (UTC).
