Create a new version of a course

  • Updated

This feature is activated on-demand only for now. Contact your Client Success Partner (CSP) if you’re interested.

Creating a new course version lets authors group the updates under a version number, view the version played by a user, and view the version history of a course.

Authors and admins can create new versions of their courses.

Platform admins can create new versions of any course.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of the course row, click pen.svg Edit.
  3. On the top bar, click VERSION N (N is the number of the current version) → Release new version.
  4. Add version notes.
  5. Click CONFIRM.

Visibility for users

Users don’t see which version of the course they are currently playing.

Incidentally, this means that a user will see the version that matches the most recent applicable changes. For example:

In both cases, the changes are visible to the user independently of whether they were published as a new version.

View the version played by a user

Admins and authors can view the course version that was active when a user played a course.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of a course, click bar.svg Results and statistics.
  3. In the section Individual statistics, click on the number in the column Attempts.

In column Version, the number corresponds to the course version that was live when the attempt was made.

View the version history of a course

Authors and admins can view the version history of a course.

The version history shows one line per version, with the release date, the name of the user who created the version, and the version notes.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of the course row, click pen.svg Edit.
  3. On the top bar, click VERSION N (N is the number of the current version) → View version history.
