Add AI Smart Review for open questions

Admins, editors, and contributors can enable AI Smart Review for open questions in their courses. This will allow learners to chat with our AI to help refine their answers before submitting them.

The AI will validate the answer if it’s close enough to the instructions in the AI correction guide field. Otherwise, if it can't identify enough keywords in the learner's answer, it will send the answer to the instructor or the learner’s manager.

The AI cannot ask to retry, nor fail a learner. A validated answer by the IA cannot be re-corrected by a human.

1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
2. On the right of a course, click Edit.
3. In the left sidebar, below the list of existing activities, click Add activity → Open question (or click on an existing open question).
4. At the top right of the section AI Smart Review, enable the option (if it isn’t already enabled).
5. In the section AI correction guide, enter the ideal answer. This will help the AI guide the user towards the good answer.
   • Click Generate at the top right of the text area to automatically generate instructions based on the question title.
6. On the bottom right, click Test Al Smart Review.
7. Discuss with the AI (send your text by clicking Send on the right). This simulates what the learners will see.
8. When you’re finished, click Back to the editor.

💡 Learners can send up to 10 messages to the AI per open question.
