Edit the main author of a course

Platform admins and the current main author can change the main author of a course.

The new main author must be an admin, editor, or contributor in at least one group.

When a user creates a course, they become its main author. You can add a co-author to share edition permissions.

If the user who was the main author is deleted, they are automatically replaced.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of a course, click pen.svg Edit.
  3. On the top right, click gear cog.svg Settings.
  4. On the right, under Main author, click pen.svg Edit author.
  5. Select a user.
  6. On the bottom right, click Confirm.

Add co-authors to a course

Main authors and co-authors can add co-authors to a course, if they have the contributor, editor, or admin role in one of the new co-author’s groups.

Any user can be added as a co-author.

Co-authors can access the statistics page of a course, but they will see data only if they have the coach or admin role in the group of the related users.

Co-authors have the same permissions as a main author on a course, but are not replaced if they are deleted.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of a course, click pen.svg Edit.
  3. On the top right, click gear cog.svg Settings.
  4. On the right, under Co-authors, click + Add co-authors.
    • If the course already has co-authors, click pen.svg Edit co-authors.
  5. Select users.
  6. On the bottom right, click Confirm.

Add suggested co-authors to a course

If skills are activated on your platform, and the course has at least 1 skill, we will automatically suggest co-authors.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of a course, click pen.svg Edit.
  3. In the course overview, below Skills, click See suggested co-authors.
  4. Select the co-authors.
    • The list displays all users you can see. Users rated highest are displayed at the top.
  5. On the bottom right, click Confirm.
  6. Click Confirm.

Co-authors are suggested based on a score growing with the user skill level, and the number of courses in which they’re the main author or a co-author.

Remove co-authors from a course

Main authors and co-authors can remove co-authors from a course.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of a course, click pen.svg Edit.
  3. On the top right, click gear cog.svg Settings.
  4. On the right, under Co-authors, click pen.svg Edit co-authors.
  5. Unselect users.
  6. On the bottom right, click Confirm.
