Admins, editors, and contributors can use AI to create a course by providing instructions and/or uploading a file (.pdf, .docx or .pptx only). The AI will take into account the instructions in the prompt, the uploaded document, and the content from existing courses (cheat sheets, video transcripts and course descriptions), filtered on user visibility.
- At the top right of the homepage, click Create → Course.
- Click New course.
- Explain what your course is about.
- Optionally, on the bottom left, click Add a document to upload a document, and drag & drop the file into the window, or click OR SELECT A FILE and select the file from your computer. See the accepted documents section below →
- On the bottom right, click Generate outline.
- Once the outline is generated, you can refine it by adding further instructions in the AI Companion on the right.
- On the top right, click Generate course.
The course generation starts immediately. When it is finished, the course remains in the edit screen. You can review and adapt the contents before sharing it.
If you uploaded a document, and the course generation is successful, you will receive this email. Otherwise, you will receive this email. Check that the file meets the criteria. Those emails are sent even if the user uploading the file has all their notifications muted.
The generated course will contain:
- a title and a summary (which may or may not be identical to the document)
- between 3 and 10 cheat sheets, each with a title, a formatted text body, and an Unsplash image related to the topic
- If the course is generated from a document, the cheat sheets will try to match the original structure of the document.
- AI-generated questions after each cheat sheet (alternating between Single selection, Multiple Choice, and True/False), unless there is not enough information in the cheat sheet
- and a final cheat sheet called "Takeaways", containing the original file, downloadable by learners.
A disclaimer is displayed in courses created using AI.
The course will be written in the language of the instructions (or in English, if the language is not supported by the platform).

Add guidelines for course creation
Admins can add guidelines for the AI assistant to generate courses that align with your company culture, pedagogy goals, and compliance.
Those guidelines are defined at the group level and will apply to all courses owned by that group. They will automatically propagate to all subgroups until a subgroup has its own guidelines (which will, in turn, apply to all its subgroups in the same way).
Add guidelines for company culture
Company culture lets you tweak the tone of voice.
- In the left sidebar, hover over a group, then click
Settings.
- If
Settings doesn’t appear in your sidebar, click on the group first, then click
Settings in the top right of the main section.
- If
- In the left sidebar, click Prompt Engineering → Company culture.
- Tweak the options to adjust the communication style, formatting, and optionally language variations.
- The option Inclusive writing focuses on ensuring the content uses gender-neutral language and avoids stereotypes.
- In Glossary, you can add keywords that describe the specifics of your activity. This will help AI identify when those words are used in a video and improve the quality of the video transcripts.
Add translation guidelines for company culture
This feature requires the Globalization Solution. Contact your Customer Success Partner (CSP) to learn more.
Admins can upload a translation file to specify how certain words should be translated when translating a course. This file should only contain nouns or product terms. The file can contain up to 1,000 lines.
- In the left sidebar, hover over a group, then click
Settings.
- If
Settings doesn’t appear in your sidebar, click on the group first, then click
Settings in the top right of the main section.
- If
- In the left sidebar, click Prompt Engineering → Company culture.
- At the bottom of the Glossary section, click Download template.
- Edit the file to add your translations.
- Click Upload translation file (.xlsx) and upload the updated file.

- In Course info, you can add instructions regarding the course title and summary.
- Select a Pedagogical plan.

- Enable or disable Include Key Takeaways. If enabled, the AI will automatically generate a summary cheat sheet at the end of the course, with the list of key takeaways.
- Select the number of Knowledge check questions per activity. If you choose 0, the AI will not generate any questions.
Add guidelines for compliance
- In the left sidebar, hover over a group, then click
Settings.
- If
Settings doesn’t appear in your sidebar, click on the group first, then click
Settings in the top right of the main section.
- If
- In the left sidebar, click Prompt Engineering → Compliance.
- Enable or disable each section to include (or not include) instructions about this specific topic.
- Expand the section to edit the prompt. You can also select a prompt template in the dropdown just above, and edit it in the prompt text box.
If the course was created by uploading a document, we will underline parts that are considered non-compliant.
If the course was created by using instructions, and the topics or contents of the title or instructions are in direct contradiction with the compliance, we will stop the course generation and display an error message.
It will also check if generation contents are in relation to different compliance topics provided in the prompt. If so, it will add a reference to those compliance laws. For example, if a user generates a course mentioning personal data, AI will automatically add a reference to GDPR.
