Add a question to a course

  • Updated

Create a new question

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. Click on a course.
  3. In the left sidebar, below the list of existing activities, click Add activity.
  4. Scroll down to the Question section, and click on a question type.
  5. Enter the mandatory elements of the question.

By default, the title of the question is displayed in the left sidebar. To prevent learners from knowing the question title before they reach it, you can add a generic title, then enter the details of the question in the fieldĀ Additional information.

See the consequences of adding an activity to an active course.

Import an existing question

Contributors can reuse questions from courses on which they have the main author or co-author role. Admins and editors can reuse questions from courses on which they have the main author or co-author role, or owned by their group. Platform administrators can import any question.

You can choose to keep the link with the existing question (in which case, editing the imported question will also edit the original question), or remove the link (in which case, the imported question will be independent).

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of a course, click pen.svg Edit.
  3. In the left sidebar, below the list of existing activities, click + Add activity → Reuse question (last option at the bottom of the list).
  4. Select the questions.
  5. On the top left, enable or disableĀ Keep link.
    • If you enableĀ Keep link, editing the imported question will also edit the original question.
    • If you disableĀ Keep link, the imported question will be independent.
  6. On the top left, click Import.

  • To cancel a blank, double-click on the term.
  • Answers are case-insensitive (if the correct answer is "Ravenclaw", entering "RAVENCLAW" will be correct).
  • Avoid creating two consecutive blanks. Instead, make a blank contain several words.
  • Please refrain from editing this type of question from the browser of your mobile device: the double-click interaction will conflict with the default system behavior.
