Users who can edit a path session can unenroll learners from a path session in which they were enrolled.
Unenrolling learners from a path session will keep the user’s statistics on this path session. If the learner is enrolled (or self-enrolls) again, they will resume their progression and keep their former score.
Unenroll individual learners
If the user was enrolled manually
- At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
- On the right of the name of a path, clickÂ
Edit.
- If the path has several sessions, select a session on the right, in the section Sessions.
- In the section Enroll learners → Build the audience → User is, click on the X on the right of the name of the user.
- At the bottom right, click Save audience.
- Click Confirm.
If the user is part of an enrolled group
You cannot unenroll a user who is part of an enrolled group, but you can exclude them from the enrollment. This will block their access to the path session.
- At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
- On the right of the name of a path, clickÂ
Edit.
- If the path has several sessions, select a session on the right, in the section Sessions.
- In the section Enroll learners, click Edit the audience → Exclude learners.
- Select the users, then click outside the field.
- You can also click Expand view at the top right, to filter or search users.
- From the expanded view, you can also exclude users with their email addresses, by clicking Add email addresses. If you add email addresses of users who are not part of the platform, this will invite them to the platform (and exclude them from the path session).
- At the bottom right, click Save audience.
- Click Confirm.
You can remove a user from the exclusion list (thus allowing them to be enrolled again) by clicking X on the right of their name. Remove all excluded users by clicking X on the top right of the field.
Unenroll groups
Unenrolling groups from a path session will unenroll all learners from that group, unless they belong to another group that is still enrolled in the path.
Users who self-enrolled before they were enrolled (either individually or through one of their groups) remain enrolled in the session even if you unenroll all the groups in which they belong. You can, however, unenroll them manually.
- At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
- On the right of the name of a path, clickÂ
Edit.
- If the path has several sessions, select a session on the right, in the section Sessions.
- In the section Enroll learners → Build the audience → Group is, click on the X on the right of the name of the group.
- At the bottom right, click Save audience.
- Click Confirm.

What happens to classroom data when a learner is unenrolled?
When a learner is unenrolled from a path session, their classroom attendance data is retained. Previously, unenrolling a learner would delete their classroom registration, which meant losing information about their attendance.
Learners who are unenrolled after June 11, 2025 will have their classroom registration archived instead of deleted. This applies both to manual unenrollments and automatic changes triggered by the Audience Builder.
The reason for the specific date is that this feature was added on June 11, 2025, so any unenrollments prior will have happened before this feature, meaning we did not track the data and cannot retrieve it
Can a learner be re-enrolled to a classroom?
If the learner is re-enrolled later (manually or by self-enrollment), they may be automatically re-registered to the same classroom slot they were in before. This depends on several factors:
If the original slot is in the past
- If the learner was marked as attended or not attended:
- The learner will be re-added to the same slot, even if it is full or if auto-registration is disabled.
- If the learner’s attendance was pending:
- If auto-registration is enabled, they will be added to the first available future slot.
- If auto-registration is disabled or no slots are available, they will be re-enrolled in the path session but not registered to any slot.
If the original slot is in the future
- If the learner was marked as attended or not attended, and the slot is not full:
- The learner will be re-added to the same slot.
- If their previous slot is full:
- If auto-registration is enabled, they will be added to the next available slot.
- If auto-registration is disabled or no slots are available, they will be re-enrolled in the path session but not registered to any slot.
- When a slot is in the future and attendance is pending - learners can be added to a slot on the path based on slot capacity and self-registration settings - the same logic as above for those slots where a learner’s attendance is pending and the slot is in the past
This also ensures that classroom data is retained for users who are deleted from the platform. If a deleted user is later restored and re-enrolled in the same path session, their past classroom data (including attendance) will still be available.
Archived data is only created when learners are unenrolled from a path session—not when they are unregistered from a slot while still enrolled in the path.
