Add an opinion question to a course

  • Updated

Opinion questions do not count in the score of the course; their typical use case is for polls and surveys.

You can use two types of opinion questions:

  • Multiple choice questions (learners must check boxes)
  • Open questions (learners must submit a text and/or a document)

Those questions will only be visible in courses within program sessions or path sessions. If a course with an open-ended question is played via the catalog, the question will not be visible.

Create an opinion question

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. Click on a course.
  3. In the left sidebar, click Add a question.
  4. In the section Opinion questions, select Multiple choice (opinion) or Open question (opinion).
  5. Enter the title of the question.

View opinion questions statistics for a course

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of a course, click bar.svg View results and statistics.

If the course includes opinion questions, the course statistics page displays at the top:

  • A section per multiple choice opinion question, with the following information:
    • In the title, the opinion question.
    • In the subtitle, the ratio of people having answered out of the people having started the course.
    • In the bar chart, the percentage of respondents having selected the response to an opinion question out of the total number of learners having started the course.
  • An Individual responses table for all opinion questions included in the course, with:
    • One column per opinion question.
    • One row per learner per course attempt.

  4. Click on a user.
  5. Click on an attempt.

The table displays one line per answered question, with the following columns:

  • Question type - Type of the question.
  • Question title - Title of the question.
  • Answer - Preview of the learner's written answer to open questions, or a View Details link to see the full response.

  • Date - Date of the attempt.
