Who can use this feature?

  • Platform admins can translate carousels on the homepage and group pages.
  • Group admins can translate carousels on their specific group page.

  • Accessible only on the Web Application.

Prerequisite: Ensure the target language is available on the homepage or group page.

To translate a widget, the language you need must be available on the homepage or the group page where the widget is located. To learn how to add a new language to a page, see Set up languages for widget translation (homepage and group pages).

You can translate every text field of the carousel slides and select a different slide image for each language.

  • If you can't access the page layout configuration panel as described in the first step, replace step 1 with:
    • For the homepage: At the top right of your homepage, click group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout.
    • For a group page: In the left sidebar, click on a group. Then, click  group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout at the top right of the main section.
  1. Access the page layout configuration panel:
    • For the homepage: In the left sidebar, click group-page-layout.svg Home page layout.
    • For a group page: In the left sidebar, hover over a group, then click group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout.
  2. In the Configure page layout panel on the right, hover over the carousel, then click pen.svg Edit.
  3. Select the slide you want to translate.
  4. At the top right, click translation.svg Translate.
A double panel opens, with the text in the source language on the left and the translation panel on the right.
  5. Optional: If you added multiple languages to your page, select the language at the top of the right panel.
  6. In the right panel, translate every text field.
  7. To select a different image for this new language, click plus.svg under Image.
  8. In the bottom-right corner, click Apply.
  9. Optional: To translate another carousel slide, clickchevron-left.svg Back to carousel at the top left of the double panel, then repeat steps 3 through 8.
  10. Click Close.

If the slides are available in the learner's profile language, the page will display them in that language. Otherwise, they are displayed in the default language.
