Password restrictions enforce specific complexity and history requirements for user passwords. Platform administrators can enable these restrictions in the advanced settings.
Enable password restrictions
- In the left sidebar, hover over the platform group (the one with a golden crown), then click
Settings.
- If
Settings doesn’t appear in your sidebar, click on the platform group first, then click
Settings in the top right of the main section.
- If
- In the left sidebar, click Advanced.
- Select the Activate password restrictions option.
Password requirements
The requirements for user passwords change based on whether the "Activate password restrictions" setting is enabled or disabled.
When password restrictions are disabled (by default)
User passwords must meet the following requirement:
- Minimum length: 8 characters.
When password restrictions are enabled
User passwords must meet all the following criteria:
- Minimum length: 14 characters.
- Character types: Must include at least one character from each of the following categories:
- Lowercase letters
- Uppercase letters
- Numbers
- Non-alphanumeric characters
- History check: Cannot match any of the user's previous 5 passwords.
