Edit the general settings of a group

  • Updated

Who can use this feature?

  • Platform administrators can edit any group’s details
  • Group administrators can edit their group’s cover picture, logo, name, welcome message, video presentation, favicon, privacy, additional information and learning needs activation status.
  1. In the left sidebar, hover over a group, then click settings.svg Settings.
    • If settings.svg Settings doesn’t appear in your sidebar, click on the group first, then click settings.svg Settings in the top right of the main section.
  2. Click on a field to edit it.

The Cover picture is the picture at the top of the group settings page, and on the top right of the homepage when clicking on a group in the left sidebar (the image is then resized and cropped to 432x120 pixels). You can leave it empty to use one of our default images. See the cover picture size and ratio recommendation →

The Custom logo is displayed in the left sidebar and at the top of the newsfeed on a group page. Users can click the logo in the left sidebar to navigate back to the group page (or to another URL you defined in the advanced settings of the platform group). See the logo size and ratio recommendation →

The Name is the name of the group and the one displayed in the tab of your web browser.

The Welcome message is the text displayed at the top of the right side panel when selecting a group in the homepage.

The Favicon (recommended size: between 16x16 and 500x500 pixels, ideally 32x32) is the icon displayed in the tab of your web browser when you’re on the group homepage or settings page.

The Privacy settings determine whether the group is private or public.

The Additional information is a string of text that you can use to store information about the group (for example, the registration number or ID in another tool). It will be available in the CSV exports and through the API but will not be displayed elsewhere.

The Learning Needs settings let you activate or deactivate learning needs in the group, and the inheritance rules for subgroups.
