Track skills statistics

  • Updated

This feature requires the Skills solution. For more information, contact your Customer Success Partner (CSP).

Admins and managers can see and download the statistics for the skills of their users.

Proficiency is the percentage of a user’s assigned skills where they meet or exceed the expected level. For several users, proficiency is the average of their individual scores.

For upskilling campaign statistics, see Track upskilling campaign statistics. For skill assessment statistics, see Track skill assessment statistics. For content gap statistics, see Identify content gaps. For a user-level, per-skill export, see Create a custom report.

For all tables, only users visible by the connected user are taken into account in the statistics. If you’re a manager, visible users are the managees. If you’re an admin, visible users are members of your group.

Data updates every 6 hours.

Proficiency

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Skills.
    • Managers: click bar.svg General analytics in the left sidebar, then click the Team’s skills tab.
  2. Optionally, click Filter on the top left to filter by user registration date, group, user custom field, or job.

The chart Proficiency shows the average proficiency of all visible users over time, with one data point per month computed on the 1st.

  • The Today card shows the most recently computed value.
  • The trend indicator compares that value to the value on the 1st of the month 3 months earlier. On July 10th, the comparison is against April 1st.
  • The Today card and the trend indicator do not change when you select another period.
  • Each data point keeps the population that was visible when it was computed. If a user joins or leaves your group or your team, past data points are not recomputed.

Computation of proficiency

Proficiency is computed per user, then averaged for a population:

  • Individual proficiency = number of assigned skills where the user meets or exceeds the expected level / total number of assigned skills
  • Proficiency for several users = average of their individual proficiency

A skill counts as reached only if the user is at or above the expected level. There is no partial credit: a level of 2 out of an expected level of 3 counts the same as a level of 0.

The following rules apply:

  • Skills that the user has not added to their profile, or has not assessed yet, are ignored.
  • Users who have no expected level on any skill are excluded.
  • If a skill has several expected levels, the highest one applies. In the table Skill gap by job, the expected level of that job applies.
  • If a skill has several qualifiers, only the main qualifier counts.
  • If a job requires a skill without an expected level, the skill counts as reached as soon as the user assesses on it.
  • Levels pending validation are included.

Proficiency measures a different ratio depending on where you read it:
