Track questions statistics

Who can use this feature?

The following roles can see the statistics of a question in a course, view the details of answers in the platform dashboard, and download a file with question statistics:

  • Platform admins.
  • Main author and co-authors of the course.
  • Editors and coaches of the group owning the course.
  • Coaches of the group owning the path session, if the course is part of a path.

View the results of a question in a specific course

You can only view the results of a question from a SCORM course if it has been played in the context of a path.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Courses.
  2. On the right of the name of a course, click bar.svg Results and statistics.
  3. In the section Score by question, click on a question.

This page displays one line per user. You can click on a line to open the interface of the question, with the user's answer.

If the question is an open-ended question with assessment criteria, the dashboard displays an additional column Average grade on assessment criteria.

View the results of questions for a specific learner in a path

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
  2. To the right of the path name, click bar.svg Results and statistics.
  3. In the Completion by step section, click on the course containing the questions.
  4. Click on a user.
  5. Click on an attempt.

The table displays one line per answered question, with the following columns:

  • Question type - Type of the question.
  • Question title - Title of the question.
  • Answer - Preview of the learner's written answer to open questions, or a View Details link to see the full response.
  • Score - Icon indicating whether the answer is correct checkmark.svg, incorrect cross.svg, pending correction clock.svg(for open-ended questions), or not scored - ( for opinion questions).
  • Date - Date of the attempt.

To download all the learner's answers for the course in the path, click Export.

If you are an evaluator, you can also correct answers to open-ended questions that are pending evaluation after clicking View details.

View the results of questions in a path

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
  2. On the right of the name of a path, click bar.svg Results and statistics.
  3. In the Completion by step chart, click on a course.
  4. Click Results by Learner, then click Results by Question.

The table displays one line per question, with the following columns. To export the full table as a CSV, click Export, then click Download CSV at the top right of the section.

  • Question type: The type of the question.
  • Question title: The title of the question.
  • Answers: The total number of responses submitted for the question, across all attempts. If a learner answers the same question multiple times, each attempt is counted individually.
  • Average score: The average score across all attempts, including multiple attempts by the same learner. Each answer is scored as either 100% (correct) or 0% (incorrect). For example, one correct and one incorrect answer results in a 50% average.
    • Displays - for opinion questions.
    • Displays a percentage for all other question types. For screencast demo and videopitch questions: shows 100% if validated, 0% otherwise.
  • Actions: Click download.svg to download a CSV file for the specific question. If a question has received no answers, no download button is shown for that row. The CSV contains one row per attempt, with the following columns:
    • Last name: The learner's last name.
    • First name: The learner's first name.
    • Score: The score achieved.
      • 1 for a correct answer.
      • - for an incorrect answer.
    • Answered at: The date and time of submission.
    • Answer: The learner's answer. Displays - for all question types except the following, where the answer is shown:
      • Opinion questions (open, single choice, and multiple choice).
      • Open questions, except those corrected by AI.

Download question statistics

The following reports are not available for SCORM courses.

For the questions in a specific course in a path session

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
  2. On the right of a path's name, click bar.svg Results and statistics.
  3. In the Completion by step chart, click on a course.
  4. Click Results by Learner, then click Results by Question.
  5. At the top right of the section, click Export, then click Create custom report.
  6. (Optional) In Filters, select additional filters. For more information on data filters, see Available columns and filters for custom reports.
  7. (Optional) Under Columns selection, rearrange, add, or remove columns. For more information on columns, see Available columns and filters for custom reports.
  8. At the top right of the page, click Download, then click Now.

You can also click Download, then click Via email to receive a download link for the file by email. We recommend this option if the direct download takes too much time.

The file will display one line per answer. If a learner answered the same question twice, it will show as two lines in the file.

For all questions in a path

You can create a custom report and export the statistics for one or several questions from a path in the CSV format.

  1. In the left sidebar, click bar.svg General analytics.
    • If bar.svg General analytics doesn’t appear in your sidebar, click All at the top of the homepage, then click bar.svg Statistics at the top left.
  2. Open the Custom reports tab.
  3. Click + New report.
  4. Under Report settings, in the General section, enter a Filename* for the export file. If you do not specify a filename,the export file is named export.csv by default.
  5. In the Type section, select Questions.
  6. In Sessions filter, select the path sessions.
  7. (Optional) In Filters, select additional filters. For more information on data filters, see Available columns and filters for custom reports.
  8. (Optional) Under Columns selection, rearrange, add, or remove columns. For more information on columns, see Available columns and filters for custom reports.
  9. At the top right of the page, click Download, then click Now.

You can also click Download, then click Via email to receive a download link for the file by email. We recommend this option if the direct download takes too much time.
