Create a course equivalency

  • Updated

Admins can create equivalency pools of courses. All courses in an equivalency pool are considered equivalent: a user who completes at least 1 attempt of a course in an equivalency pool will be considered having completed all courses in that pool.

If a course is a requirement for a path or another course, completing an equivalent course will fill the requirement.

If a course in an equivalency pool is part of a path in mandatory replay, users will have to replay (or play) that course even if they have completed an equivalent course.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Equivalencies (you may have to click Show more, on the right of the chips).
  2. On the top right of the list of equivalency pools, click + Create equivalency pool.
  3. In Pool name, enter the name of the pool.
  4. On the bottom right, click Next.
  5. Select courses.
    • If you’re a platform admin, you can see all courses. If you’re a group admin, you can only see courses of which you’re a main author or co-author, courses owned by your group, courses in your catalog or library, and courses in paths you can see.
    • Courses can only belong to one equivalency pool. Selecting a course that already belongs to an equivalency pool (the name of the current pool is displayed below the course name) will move it to the new pool.
    • You cannot select courses belonging to an equivalency pool that you cannot edit.
    • You can select up to 10 courses.
  6. On the bottom right, click Add courses.
  7. On the bottom right, click Confirm.

Creating an equivalency pool can impact path statistics, which can take up to 1 hour to update.
