The workflow for adding a course from OpenSesame to a path is the following:
Step 1: Add an OpenSesame course to the library of a group
Coaches and group admins can add a course synchronized from OpenSesame to the library of their group.
If the course is already shared in the group library, you can skip this step.
- In the left navigation panel, click on a group.
- At the top of the group page, click Courses.
- At the top right, click MORE ACTIONS → Add course(s) to this group.
- At the top right of the dialog box, click Filter.
- Under Provider Source, select External courses only.
- At the bottom right, click APPLY.
- Under Library, select the courses you wish to add to the library of the group.
- Click SAVE.
The selected courses are added to the group library.
Authors can now add the external course to their paths.
Step 2: Add the OpenSesame course to a path
Once a course is added to a group library, authors can include them in their paths.
- At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
- On the right side of the path row, click Edit.
- In the section Build your training, on the right of Add a step, click Course.
- At the top right of the dialog box, click Filter.
- Under Provider Source, select External courses only.
- Optional: Under External providers, select the external content provider.
- Click APPLY.
- Select one or more courses.
- Click CONFIRM.
The path will make the course available to enrolled learners when they reach the step (linear path) or at enrollment (non-linear path).
Playing an OpenSesame course from the 360Learning platform
Course start behavior
When a learner clicks START on the course homepage in 360Learning:
- They are redirected to the OpenSesame platform, where they can play the course if they have the required permissions. They must use the same email in both platforms.
- If the learner leaves the course without finishing it, they can click RESUME in 360Learning to continue the course in OpenSesame.
- In the learner's homepage in 360Learning, the course (or the path including the course) is moved to the Ongoing section, under My work.
- If the course is part of a path with a linear progression, the learner must complete the course in OpenSesame before starting the next step in 360Learning.
- If the course is the last step to be completed in a path, the learner must finish the course in OpenSesame to successfully complete the path in 360Learning.
Statistics behavior upon course start
When a learner starts a course from 360Learning, the following course statistics updates occur:
- Progress is initially set to 50%.
- Last activity date reflects the most recent launch of the course from 360Learning.
Course completion behavior
When a learner completes the course in OpenSesame:
- In 360Learning, the course is marked as Completed in 360Learning in almost real time. The learner may need to refresh the page after a few minutes to see the updated completion status.
- If the course is not part of a path, the course is moved to the Completed section in the learner's homepage.
- If the course is part of a path with a linear progression, the learner can play the next course after the next statistics synchronization. The learner may need to refresh the page after a few minutes to continue the path.
- If the course is the last step to be completed in a path, the learner may need to refresh the page after a few minutes to successfully complete the path.
- In the learner's homepage, the path is then moved to the Completed section.
Statistics synchronization upon course completion
Course statistics in 360Learning are synchronized from OpenSesame in almost real time upon course completion:
- Progress is set to 100%.
- Last activity date reflects the completion date.
-
Time spent and score (if any) are updated based on the conditions below:
- For courses completed after September 11th, 12 PM Central European Time (UTC+1):
- Time spent: Only applies to the first attempt before course completion.
- Score: Only updates for ongoing or incomplete attempts. Once an attempt is marked as completed, the score is final.
- For courses completed between May 14th, 5:30 AM Central European Time (UTC+1) and September 11th, 12 PM Central European Time (UTC+1):
- Time spent: Applies to all attempts, including those completed before May 14th.

Real-time data synchronization involves a slight delay, typically in seconds or minutes, depending on network latency and processing constraints. Users may need to refresh the page after a few minutes to see the updated statistics.
