Add a course from OpenSesame to a path

  • Updated

Who can use this feature?

  • This feature requires the Curated Programs solution and the OpenSesame integration. Contact your Customer Success Partner (CSP) for more information.
  • Coaches and group admins can add a course synchronized from external content providers to the library of their group.
  • Authors can add synchronized courses to their paths if the courses are available in their group's library.
  • Courses and paths are accessible on Mobile and Web Applications.
  • Statistics are accessible on the Web Application.

The workflow for adding a course from OpenSesame to a path is the following:

  1. Add an external course to a group's library.
  2. Add the external course to a path.

Step 1: Add an OpenSesame course to the library of a group

Coaches and group admins can add a course synchronized from OpenSesame to the library of their group.

If the course is already shared in the group library, you can skip this step.

  1. In the left navigation panel, click on a group.
  2. At the top of the group homepage, click Courses.
  3. At the top right, click MORE ACTIONS Add course(s) to this group.
  4. At the top right of the dialog box, click slider.svg Filter.
  5. Under Provider Source, select External courses only.
  6. At the bottom right, click APPLY.
  7. Under Library, select the courses you wish to add to the library of the group.
  8. Click SAVE.

The selected courses are added to the group library.

Authors can now add the external course to their paths.

Step 2: Add the OpenSesame course to a path

Once a course is added to a group library, authors can include them in their paths.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
  2. On the right side of the path row, click pen.svg Edit.
  3. In the section Build your training, on the right of Add a step, click Course.
  4. At the top right of the dialog box, click slider.svg Filter.
  5. Under Provider Source, select External courses only.
  6. Optional: Under External providers, select the external content provider.
  7. Click APPLY.
  8. Select one or more courses.
  9. Click CONFIRM.

The path will make the course available to enrolled learners when they reach the step (linear path) or at enrollment (non-linear path).

When a learner clicks START on the course homepage in 360Learning:

  • They are redirected to the OpenSesame platform, where they can play the course if they have the required permissions. They must use the same email in both the OpenSesame and the 360Learning platforms.
  • If the learner leaves the course without finishing it, they can click RESUME in 360Learning to continue the course in OpenSesame.
  • In the learner's homepage in 360Learning, the path remains in the Ongoing section, under My work.
  • In the 360Learning statistics, the progress of the course is initially set at 50%. The statistics are updated upon course completion on OpenSesame.
  • If the course is part of a path with linear progression, the learner must complete the course in OpenSesame before starting the next step in 360Learning.
  • If the course is the last step to be completed in a path, the learner must finish the course in OpenSesame to successfully complete the path in 360Learning.

When a learner completes the course in OpenSesame:

  • In 360Learning, the course is marked as Completed in almost real time. The learner may need to refresh the page after a few minutes to see the updated completion status.
  • The course statistics in 360Learning are updated in almost real time.
    • The progress is set to 100%.
    • The timestamp of completion and the score (if any) are updated.
  • If the course is part of a path with a linear progression, the learner can play the next course after the next statistics synchronization. The learner may need to refresh the page after a few minutes to continue the path.
  • If the course is the last step to be completed in the path, the learner may need to refresh the page after a few minutes to successfully complete the path.
    • In the learner's homepage, the path is moved to the Completed section.

Real-time data synchronization involves a slight delay, typically in seconds or minutes, depending on network latency and processing constraints. Users may need to refresh the page after a few minutes to see the updated statistics.
