Configure a curated catalog

  • Updated

Platform admins can configure a curated catalog on the homepage and any group page. Group admins can configure a curated catalog on their specific group page. Learners can view the content of the curated catalog on the web and mobile apps.

Curated catalog overview

The curated catalog widget is a configurable widget that displays a selection of courses and paths on the homepage or group pages.

  • Admins define a title and apply filters to configure what content the widget displays. Available filters include training type, tags, providers, language, and path session status.
  • The widget displays up to 20 results in the chosen sort order: alphabetical, most viewed, or most recent. Learners can click Find more to open the search page with the same filters applied.
  • On group pages, the widget displays training content from that group's catalog. On the homepage, it displays training content from all catalogs visible to the learner.
  • A homepage or group page can display multiple curated catalog widgets.
  • The widget configuration is not replicated in subgroups.

Migration note

If you configured tag sections on the homepage or custom training sections on group pages before May 18, 2026, these have been automatically migrated to curated catalog widgets.

  • Each former tag section is now an independent widget.
  • Each former custom training section has been converted into a curated catalog widget.

Content ordering may differ. Custom training sections now sort by most recent (previously alphabetical), and tag sections now sort by most viewed. Both also default to filtering content in the user's language and English. You can refine results using the filtering and sorting options.

Prerequisites

Before creating a curated catalog widget, ensure your content is published in a group catalog:

Add a curated catalog

Platform and group admins can add a curated catalog widget to a homepage or group page.

  1. Access the page layout configuration panel:

    • For the homepage: In the left sidebar, click group-page-layout.svg Homepage layout.
      • If group-page-layout.svg Homepage layout doesn’t appear, click group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout at the top right of your homepage.
    • For a group page: In the left sidebar, hover over a group and click group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout.
      • If group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout doesn’t appear, click on the group first, then click group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout at the top right of the main section.
  2. In the Configure page layout panel on the right, in the Add section, select Curated catalog.

  3. Enter a Title for the section. To translate the title into other languages, see Translate a curated catalog.

  4. To filter content, in the Content section, click Add filter and choose your criteria.

    • Tags: show content associated with specific tags. A widget can include multiple tags.
    • Training types: limit the widget to paths, internal courses, external provider courses, or any combination.
    • External providers: if you have external content providers connected (for example, LinkedIn Learning or Coursera), show content from one or several of them.
    • Path session status: show ongoing sessions only, or include future sessions.
    • Language: show content available in selected languages. Content in the learner's own language is always included.

If you don't apply any  filters, the widget displays all catalog content available to the learner. Within a single filter, the widget displays content matching any of the selected values. Across multiple filter types, the widget displays content matching all selected criteria. If no content matches the filters, the section will remain hidden on the page.

  5. At the top, click Back to edition.

  6. Under Sort by, select Most recent (default), Most viewed, or Alphabetical.

  7. To restrict visibility to a specific audience, under Audience, click pen.svg Edit and define criteria using Groups, Roles, or User Custom Fields. By default, everyone can see the widget. For a detailed breakdown of how audience logic works, see About widget audience.

  8. At the top, click Back to edition.

  9. To schedule when the widget appears on the page, switch the Schedule display toggle on, then select a start date, an expiry date, or both.

    • If you select only a Start date, the widget appears from that date onward.
    • If you select only an End date, the widget appears immediately and is removed on that date.
    • If you select both a Start and an End date, the widget appears between the two dates.
    • To deactivate the display schedule, switch the toggle off. The widget remains on the page until you delete it or set a new schedule.
  10. In the bottom-right corner, click Apply.

Platform and group admins can edit an existing curated catalog widget. In the Configure page layout panel, hover over the curated catalog and click pen.svg Edit. Make your changes, and click Apply.

Delete a curated catalog

Platform and group admins can delete a curated catalog widget. Once deleted, the widget cannot be restored.

  1. In the left navigation panel, hover over the relevant group and then click group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout.
    • If group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout doesn’t appear in your sidebar, click on the group first, then click group-page-layout.svg Configure page layout in the top right of the main section.
  2. In the Configure page layout panel on the right, hover over the curated catalog and click bin.svg.
  3. In the bottom-right corner, click Apply.
