Admins, editors, and contributors can customize certificates in paths.
To create a new certificate, see Create a certificate or Add a certificate to a path.
Edit a certificate
- At the top of the homepage, click Certificates.
- In the list, on the right of a certificate, click
Edit certificate.
If the certificate is used in more than one path, a message appears listing all the paths in which the certificate is used.
You can also edit a certificate directly from a path by clicking → Edit on the right of the certificate.
Customizable fields
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Owner group | Only administrators and editors of the selected group can see, edit, and delete the certificate. This includes administrators of higher-level parent groups, by inheritance. |
| Title (mandatory) | Max 55 characters. |
| Subtitle | Max 100 characters. |
| Certificate details (mandatory) |
Max 12 lines, 130 characters per line. While filling this field out, pay attention to the live preview of the certificate to ensure that the formatting is accurate. Personalization tags allow you to add fields that will be populated by a user's individual details. For example, adding the The path title personalization tag won't display in the certificate preview, even if the certificate is used in a path. It will still populate correctly on certificates issued to learners. |
| Background image |
Recommended size: 1500x1050 pixels, and no text in the background image to avoid overlap between your visuals and the text of the certificate. Click the image to upload a new one. Use PNG or JPEG format. WEBP images appear correctly in the preview but will be invisible in the certificate learners receive. |
| Top logo |
Recommended size: 250x250 pixels. If you have a Custom logo in your platform, that will be automatically populated into the Top logo field. Use PNG or JPEG format. WEBP images appear correctly in the preview but will be invisible in the certificate learners receive. |
| Validity period |
When enabled, enter a number of months (positive integer) to define when the certificate expires. Edit text allows you to customize the message displaying the validity period on the certificate. Deactivating the validity period for a certificate will remove it for future certificates. Certificates issued before deactivating the validity period will keep the expiration date. |
| Reference number | When enabled, a unique ID number is generated and added to the certificate. Edit text allows you to customize how the number is displayed. |
| Authenticity verification URL | When enabled, adds a line that contains a URL to the original certificate. Edit text allows you to edit the text around the URL. |
Certificate preview
While customizing a certificate, changes appear in real time in a live mini-preview at the top right of the screen. Click Preview full certificate to expand the preview, or click PREVIEW to view the full appearance of the certificate.
In the preview:
- The
##########next to Reference number is replaced by the actual unique number when a certificate is generated. - The
#is replaced by the actual URL where certified learners can find the certificate.
