Create your Google Play account

  • Updated

These steps are performed outside 360Learning by whoever manages your organization's developer accounts.

This article walks you through creating a Google Play Developer account, which is required to publish your custom 360Learning mobile app on the Play Store.

Before you start, get your D-U-N-S number. Google requires it to verify your organization's identity.

A one-time $25 registration fee applies. Make sure this is an Organization account type. Personal accounts are not supported.

  1. Register for a Google Play Developer account
  2. Verify your organization's website. Only the account owner can verify the website.

If you already have a Personal account

Personal accounts created after November 2023 cannot publish apps to production until they have completed a closed test with at least 12 opted-in testers running for 14 consecutive days, as required by Google. Any attempt to promote the app to production before this is met will be rejected by Google.

You have two options:

  • Migrate to an Organization account (recommended): Get a D-U-N-S number (free, ~5 business days), create a new Organization Google Play Developer account ($25), then transfer your app to the new account using Google's app transfer flow. This is a one-time effort.
  • Run the 14-day closed test: Find at least 12 testers willing to opt in, run the closed test for 14 consecutive days, then promote to production. Note that Google requires maintaining this closed test indefinitely on a Personal account.

Contact your 360Learning CSP if you need help deciding which path to take.
