Synchronize content from Pluralsight

  • Updated

Platform admins can activate the integration once their Solution Architects have enabled it.

The Pluralsight connector synchronizes courses and learning statistics from Pluralsight to 360Learning. With this integration, you can:

  • Search for Pluralsight courses in 360Learning.
  • Add Pluralsight courses to groups' catalogs and libraries.
  • Add Pluralsight courses to paths.
  • Manually add tags to Pluralsight courses. These tags persist through each synchronization.
  • View learner statistics on Pluralsight courses in 360Learning.

You can deploy the connector in one or more 360Learning groups.

Pluralsight integration overview

The Pluralsight connector retrieves all courses from your Pluralsight account and creates, updates, or archives them based on their availability on Pluralsight.

  • Creation: If a course is available in Pluralsight but not yet in your 360Learning catalog, it is imported and added to the catalog of the group where the integration is activated.
  • Update: If a course is available in both catalogs, any changes from the Pluralsight course are applied in 360Learning.
  • Deletion: When a course is retired in Pluralsight, the corresponding course in 360Learning is archived.

These courses can't be edited from the 360Learning platform.

Synchronization schedule and timing

  • Courses synchronize daily at 8:15 AM Central European Time (CET).
  • If you enable near real-time stats sync, statistics for Video Course and Program Subject content sync as learners progress, with a latency of up to 1 minute for Video Courses and up to 30 minutes for Program Subjects.
  • Statistics for other content, and as a fallback for Video Course and Program Subject content, synchronize daily at 8:30 AM Central European Time (CET).

Data synchronization

Data synced from Pluralsight to 360Learning

This integration synchronizes the following elements from Pluralsight to 360Learning:

  • Course metadata: Title, description, and duration.
  • Statistics: This integration synchronizes learner activity data from Pluralsight to 360Learning daily, or in near real time for Video Course and Program Subject content if you enable near real-time stats sync. The following statistics are included:
    • Progress in percentage
      • If no progress data is available, the learner's progress will be set to 50% in 360Learning.
    • Time spent (on first recorded attempt only)
    • Completion
    • Last activity date

Learner experience on launch

Learners must use the same email address on both their 360Learning and Pluralsight accounts.

  • When a learner launches a Pluralsight course from 360Learning, they are redirected to the Pluralsight platform to play the content.
  • On launch, the attempt remains open in 360Learning and progress is set to 1%.
  • Progress and completion then update as Pluralsight sends statistics: in near real time if you enabled near real-time stats sync, or during the next daily statistics synchronization otherwise.
  • If the Pluralsight course is the last step in a path with a linear progression, or if the learner has completed all other steps in a non-linear path, the path is marked as Successful once the attempt is completed.

Set up the integration

Step 1: Get your GraphQL API key

Contact your Pluralsight representative to ask for your GraphQL API key.

Step 2: Contact us

Once you have your GraphQL API key, email either your 360Learning Customer Success Partner (CSP) or Solution Architect (SA) with the following information:

  • Integration name: Pluralsight
  • 360Learning group IDs: Include the IDs of the 360Learning groups where you want to deploy the connector. Pluralsight courses will be added to the catalog of those groups.
    • If a group has public subgroups, learners in those subgroups can also access the content in the catalog.
    • You can create a private group for this synchronization.
  • 360Learning connector admin ID: The ID of a user with editor or admin permissions on the integration group. This user will become the main author of Pluralsight courses once they are synchronized.

Step 3: Activate the Pluralsight integration

Once 360Learning has enabled the integration in the backend, activate the integration in 360Learning:

  1. In the left sidebar, click the group where the integration is set up.
  2. At the top right of the main section, click settings.svg Settings.
  3. In the left sidebar, click plug-socket.svg IntegrationsPluralsight.
  4. Enter your GraphQL API key.
  5. At the bottom right, click Setup Integration. The platform should take a few minutes to complete the setup.
  6. Click Continue.

If your GraphQL API key is about to expire, you can't update it yourself without deactivating your connector, which would archive all your courses. We suggest you send the new key to your SA or CSP to update the connector for you.

Step 4: Enable near real-time stats sync

This step is optional. Skip it to keep only the daily statistics synchronization.

To enable near real-time stats sync, you must configure webhooks on your Pluralsight platform. This involves retrieving credentials from your 360Learning platform and entering them into Pluralsight's Integration Portal.

Step 4.1: Retrieve webhook credentials from 360Learning

This step is performed in 360Learning.

  1. In the left sidebar, click the group where the integration is set up.
  2. At the top right of the main section, click settings.svg Settings.
  3. In the left sidebar, click plug-socket.svg IntegrationsPluralsight.
  4. In the Webhooks section, copy and securely store the following:
    • Client ID
    • Client Secret

Step 4.2: Configure webhooks in Pluralsight

This step is performed in Pluralsight.

  1. On Pluralsight's Integration Portal, select 360Learning as your LMS/LXP provider.
  2. Enter the following information:
    • Client ID and Client Secret, from step 4.1.
    • Authorization URL: your platform's URL followed by /api/pluralsight/oauth2/token.
    • Statement URL: your platform's URL followed by /api/pluralsight/stats.
    • Technical Contact: any contact on your end.
    • Preferred Actor Identification: Email. This is the only supported option.
  3. Click Test Credentials to confirm the connection, then click Save.
