Create a custom learning need template

Platform admins and group admins can create custom templates to guide their learners as they declare learning needs.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Learning Needs.
  2. At the top left, click bar.svg Statistics.
  3. Scroll down to the section Groups with a custom template.
  4. At the top right of that section, click Create Template.
  5. Enter the Template Title.
  6. Under Add question(s), enter your first question.
  7. (Optional) You can add more questions by clicking Add Question Field, then enter your question in the new field.
    • You can reorder your questions by using the grip.svg drag-and-drop icon to the right of the field.
  8. Click Submit.
  9. Select groups.
    • All members of those groups will have to use that template when creating a learning need.
  10. At the bottom right, click Confirm.
    • If a selected group was already using a template, click Confirm to use the new template instead. Otherwise, click Back and unselect the group.

For all selected groups, the custom template will replace the default template.

Edit a custom learning need template

You can change the title, questions, and groups associated with a custom learning need template.

Editing a custom template does not remove existing learning needs that used the previous version of that template from the platform.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Learning Needs.
  2. At the top left, click bar.svg Statistics.
  3. Scroll down to the section Groups with a custom template (below the list of learning needs).
  4. On the right of the template name, click Edit.
  5. Make the changes.
  6. At the bottom right, click Share.
  7. Select or unselect the groups.
    • If you shared the custom template with more than one group and want to share the new version with some of those groups only, select only the groups with which you want to share the new version. The other groups will still see the previous version of the custom template.
  8. At the bottom right, click Confirm.

For the selected groups, the new version of the custom template will automatically replace the previous custom template.

Remove a custom learning need template

You can remove custom templates that you share with your groups.

Removing a custom template does not remove existing learning needs that used this template from the platform.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Learning Needs.
  2. At the top left, click bar.svg Statistics.
  3. Scroll down to the section Groups with a custom template (below the list of learning needs).
  4. On the right of the template name, click Remove.
  5. Click Confirm.

Users from this group will now see the default template when declaring learning needs.
