Delete a custom field from the platform
Platform admins can delete a custom field. Deleting the custom field removes it from every user profile to which it is assigned.
Deleting a custom field is permanent, and may automatically enroll, or unenroll, many users to a path session. Make sure you’re certain, and confirm with path session owners that they are not using this custom field as a filter for enrollment.
- In the left sidebar, hover over the platform group (the one with the golden crown), then click
 Settings.
- If

- On the right of a custom field, clickÂ
Delete.
- If the custom field is used for dynamically enrolling users to paths (using audiences), we suggest you click on the link List of impacted paths in the confirmation message to check the consequences.
- Click Confirm.
Delete a custom field value
Custom fields with restricted input
Platform admins can delete values from custom fields that have restricted input. When a value is deleted, it is removed from every user profile that uses it.
Deleting a custom field is permanent, and may automatically enroll, or unenroll, many users to a path session. Make sure you’re certain, and confirm with path session owners that they are not using this custom field as a filter for enrollment.

Custom fields with free input
Administrators can delete values from custom fields that have free-form input. This removes the custom field from all users in their group.
If the custom field value was used only by users in that group, its deletion may automatically enroll many users in a path session. Make sure you’re certain, and confirm with the path session owners that they are not using this custom field value as a filter for enrollment.
- In the left sidebar, hover over a group, then click
 Settings.
- If
Settings doesn't appear in your sidebar, click on the group first, then click
Settings in the top right of the main section.

- On the right of a custom field, click on the downwards arrow to expand it.
- On the right of a value, click
Delete.
- Click Confirm.
If platform admins perform the steps above from the platform group, the custom field value is entirely deleted from the platform, and the consequences are identical to deleting a custom field value from custom fields with restricted input.

- In the left sidebar, click Current members.
