Share a token-based path

  • Updated

Who can use this feature?

  • This feature requires an eCommerce solution. You can find one within the Tech Services catalog with separate pricing. Contact your Customer Success Partner (CSP) for more information.

Paths can be shared using tokens, allowing you to determine a set number of users that can be enrolled (or self-enroll) to play that path.

How do the tokens work

Tokens allow you to sell paths and set prices based on the number of learners that have access to the path. The amount of tokens in a given path is determined by your eCommerce portal (there is a minimum amount of 1, there is no maximum amount). Once a path has been given tokens (by your eCommerce portal or via API), platform admins can increase the number of available tokens from your 360Learning platform.

  • A single token is consumed when a learner is enrolled and starts playing the path.
  • You can refund a token for a learner as long as they haven't started the path (must have 0% path progress).

Once the maximum number of tokens have been consumed for a path, the path will be visible but coaches and admins will not be able to assign it and learners will no longer be able to enroll.

To check the number of available tokens for a path:

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Paths.
  2. Find the path that you would like to check, scroll the table to the right to see Tokens left and Tokens used.
    • Click on Tokens used to see the learners that have used a token for the path.

There are some configurations that will consume a token immediately when the path is assigned, meaning it cannot be refunded:

  • If a path starts with an email
    • Upon assigning the path, an email is sent and path progress is immediately higher than 0%.
  • If a user has already played a course of the path in another context
    • When the user is assigned to the path (if they have already completed a course in another context) their path progress is immediately higher than 0%.

Sharing token-based paths

Token-based paths are shared like any other path (the difference being the number of learners that can access the path are determined by the number of available tokens):

  • As a path in the library (available to coaches and admins).
    • When a path is shared with the library of a group, "x" number of tokens are then available to be used in that path's session (or other sessions within the same group). The admin/coach can then choose how the path will be shared.
      • The admin/coach can create as many sessions as they would like, all sessions will share the same overall token count.
        • Example: I am a coach and I purchase 10 tokens for a path from the eCommerce website. I open that path and create 1 new session. I share that session with 5 learners (either via catalog or individual assignment). There are now 5 tokens remaining for that path to be used at a later time/different session.
  • As a path session in the catalog (available to learners).
    • When a path session is shared on the catalog, users self-enroll directly in the session. The number of users that can self-enroll is determined by the number of available tokens. Once all tokens are consumed, users will no longer be able to self-enroll.
