Embed 360Learning in Microsoft Teams

  • Updated

You can embed your 360Learning platform as a tab in the left sidebar of your Microsoft Teams environment.

The 360Learning platform is fully contained within the tab. Some authoring features, as well as playing SCORM courses, will open in a browser tab and not in Microsoft Teams.

Prerequisites

Contact your 360Learning Client Success Partner (CSP) or Solution Architect (SA), to ask them to create the application for your platform.

Once you’ve received your custom application (it should be a ZIP file), you can add it directly in Microsoft Teams.

  1. Log in to Microsoft Teams ↗ with an admin account.
  2. On the bottom left, click Apps.
  3. On the bottom left, click Manage your apps.
  4. At the top, click Publish an appUpload an app to your org’s app catalog.
  5. Select the zip file for your custom application.

You can also follow the official Microsoft Teams documentation ↗

Access your 360Learning platform from your Microsoft Teams sidebar

Any Microsoft Teams user can access their 360Learning platform from Microsoft Teams. Admins should first make sure the 360Learning app is correctly installed and updated (see the prerequisites above).

If an admin already pinned 360Learning for all users, you can directly access it from the sidebar without having to perform the steps below.

  1. Log in to Microsoft Teams ↗.
  2. In the left sidebar, at the bottom of the list of pinned items, click ....
  3. Search for the 360Learning app.
  4. Click on it.

If needed, log in with your 360Learning credentials.

You can then use 360Learning in Microsoft Teams, just like a browser tab.

Pin 360Learning to your Microsoft Teams sidebar

You can pin 360Learning as an icon in Microsoft Teams, so it will always be displayed in your sidebar.

You should now see the name of your 360Learning app in your Microsoft Teams sidebar, in italics. This means it is not pinned, and will disappear when you reload the page (or log out and log in again).

  1. In the left sidebar, right-click on your 360Learning app.
  2. Select Pin.

You should now see the item in a non-italicized font.

Right-click on the item, and select Unpin to unpin it.

Pin 360Learning for all your Microsoft Teams users

You can force the 360Learning app to be pinned to the sidebar of all your Microsoft Teams users: follow the steps in https://teams.handsontek.net/2021/04/04/pin-application-microsoft-teams-users/.

We recommend making sure that all Microsoft Teams users have access to your 360Learning platform.
