Test a SCORM file on SCORM Cloud

  • Updated

This article is about troubleshooting a course created from a SCORM or other eLearning file that doesn't behave as expected in 360Learning: for example, it doesn't complete, doesn't send a score, or shows errors. Before contacting support, test the SCORM file on SCORM Cloud, outside 360Learning. The test shows whether the issue comes from the file itself or from 360Learning.

SCORM Cloud is a free testing tool from Rustici Software, which makes the SCORM engine 360Learning uses.

If you're looking to import a SCORM file to create a course, see Create a course by importing an eLearning file.

Test the file

  1. Go to SCORM Cloud and create a free account, if you don't have one.
  2. Upload the SCORM .zip file.
  3. Launch the course and complete it as a learner would.
  4. Open the debug log and check that the file sends the mandatory element with its final value:
    • SCORM 1.2: cmi.core.lesson_status is completed, passed, or failed
    • SCORM 2004: cmi.completion_status is completed

If the course doesn't complete on SCORM Cloud or shows errors, the issue comes from the file. Contact your SCORM editor or content vendor to fix and re-export it. If they need help, share Rustici's technical documentation or support page with them.

If the course completes correctly on SCORM Cloud, contact 360Learning support and mention that you already tested the file there.
