Answer messages with the Feedback Inbox

Authors, Coaches, Administrators, and all users who are Instructors on a session can access the Feedback Inbox in the sidebar ("N Pending comments" or "Feedback inbox" if it is empty).

We recommend taking the time to answer each message (or like them) - if possible within a few days, at most. Not only will this make you keep a clean Feedback Inbox, but it will also make Learners want to participate more.

Messages are added to the Feedback Inbox when one of the following cases happens:

  • a new comment or reply is posted in a course or activity of which you're the main Author, or a Co-author, in a group you can see;
  • a new comment or reply is posted in a course, or the Messages section of a session of which you're an Instructor;
  • someone answered in a discussion in which you participated;
  • you're mentioned in a comment (anywhere) or a post or its reply.

Answer a specific message (and mark it as completed)

Marking a message as completed allows you to quickly identify when a new one arrives.

  1. In the left sidebar, click N Pending comments (N being the number of currently pending comments)
  2. In the section Pending, click the message
  3. Answer the message
  4. On the bottom right of the initial message, click Mark as completed
  5. On the top right, click the "X" button

The message now moved to the section Completed.

Answer messages in batch (and mark them as completed)

Marking messages as completed allows you to quickly identify when a new one arrives.

  1. In the left sidebar, click N Pending comments (N being the number of currently pending comments)
  2. In the section Pending, click the message at the top
  3. Answer the message
  4. On the bottom right of the initial message, click Mark as completed
  5. On the bottom, click NEXT MESSAGE
  6. Repeat, until you've answered all pending messages

All messages are now in the section Completed.

Mark a completed message back as pending

If you notice there is a remaining pending action on a message marked as completed, you can mark it back as pending.

  1. In the left sidebar, click N Pending comments (N being the number of currently pending comments)
  2. In the section Completed, click MARK AS PENDING

The message now moved to the section Pending.

Deactivate email notifications (and keep receiving messages in the Feedback Inbox)

You can deactivate the following email notifications, in your personal settings, and still receive messages in the Feedback Inbox, within the platform:

  • A user posts a comment on educational content I created or one of my posts
  • A user posts a comment in a program session for which I am an instructor
  • A reply is posted in a discussion I am participating in

Notification emails for direct mention cannot be deactivated.
