Create a Path

  • Updated

Group Administrators and Platform Administrators, and Authors can create Paths.

  1. In the left sidebar, click Dashboard
  2. In the left sidebar, click PATHS
  3. At the top right, click +
  4. In the Title field, enter the title of the Path (no character limit, but only the first 50 characters will be visible from Learners profiles)
  5. In the Progression section, select Linear (Learners must follow the steps in a defined order) or Non-linear (Learners can follow the steps in the order of their choice)
  6. In the Steps section, add courses, program templates or other Paths (see Add, edit or delete steps in a Path)
  7. On the bottom right, click SAVE

Once your Path is created, you can enroll users, or add it to the Catalog.

If you add a program template to your Path, don't forget to assign users to one of its sessions (or add the session to the Catalog). Otherwise, they will not be able to complete the step.

If a Learner is assigned to several sessions from the same program, or if they have access to several sessions from their Catalog, clicking on the program will redirect them to the session where the completion rate is highest, or (in case of equality) to the session that started the most recently.

More about Paths

A Path is a training object containing steps. Steps can be:

  • courses;
  • program templates;
  • other Paths.

Paths can be:

  • linear (Learners must follow the steps in a defined order),
  • or non-linear (Learners can follow the steps in the order of their choice).

Within the Path, you can mark steps as:

  • mandatory (Learners must complete the step to earn the Path),
  • or optional (Learners can earn the Path even if they do not complete the step).

Paths do not have start or end dates, but program sessions do; if your Path contains program templates, make sure corresponding sessions are running.
