Add an assessment block to a program

  • Updated

Assessment blocks are used to assess the knowledge a learner on a specific item. Learners will be able to resume the program regardless of the results of the assessment block.

You can optionally add tags to assessment blocks.

Remember that adding a block to an existing program template will not update the existing sessions. Learn more about editing program templates →

Add an assessment block

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Program templates.
  2. Click on a program template.
  3. On the bottom, click Assessment.
  4. Enter a title

Change the assessor for the assessment block

By default, assessments are done by session instructors. You can choose the learner’s managers instead.

  1. At the top of the homepage, click Program templates.
  2. Click on a program template with an Assessment block.
  3. In Assessed by, select Managers.

Assessors receive a notification when a learner reaches the assessment block.

Use the assessment block to determine if a learner receives a certificate

A typical use case of Assessment blocks is to determine if the learner receives a certificate. This will not prevent the learner from completing the program.

  1. Add an Assessment block to a program template.
  2. Immediately after the Assessment block, add a certificate block.
  3. In the Assessment block settings, select Mode > Examination.
  4. If Validation is set to Score (0% to 100%), check Minimum score under Examination, and enter a value.
