  • Updated

Who can use this feature?

  • Platform admins can manage the languages available on the homepage and group pages.
  • Group admins can manage the languages available on their specific group page.
  • This feature requires the Globalization Solution. Contact your Customer Success Partner (CSP) to learn more.
  • Accessible only on the Web Application.

You can manage the languages available on homepage and group pages for the purpose of translating its configurable widgets (carousels, galleries, and custom training sections). Standard, non-configurable sections of the homepage and group pages are displayed based on the user's platform language settings and do not require these steps.

In this article, you'll learn how to add and remove languages, as well as set the source and default languages for the configurable widgets. For instructions on translating the content within these specific widgets, please see the linked articles below:

Adding languages allows you to translate the configurable widgets for users who use those languages.

Without adding languages, standard sections of the page will appear in the user's platform language. Configurable sections (like carousels, galleries, and custom training sections) will be shown in the language they were created in.

To add a new language to a homepage or group page:

  1. Go to the homepage (click home.svg Home in the left sidebar) or the group page (click the group name in the left sidebar).
  2. At the top right of the main section, click group-page-layout.svg Page Layout.
  3. At the top right of the Page layout panel, click translation.svg Manage languages.
  4. In the Manage languages panel, click plus.svg Add language(s).
  5. Select the language you wish to add.
  6. At the top left of the Add language(s) panel, click arrowLeft.svg.
  7. In the Manage languages panel, click Apply.
  8. Click Close.

Once your page has multiple languages, you can select:

Select the source language for a page

The source language is the language in which the widgets on the page are created.

  1. Go to the homepage (click home.svg Home in the left sidebar) or the group page (click the group name in the left sidebar).
  2. At the top right of the main section, click group-page-layout.svg Page Layout.
  3. At the top right of the Page layout panel, click translation.svg Manage languages.
  4. To the right of a language, click 3Dots.svg → Set as source language.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click Close.

Select the default language for a page

The default language is the language in which the widgets are displayed when the learner's profile language is not available.

  1. Go to the homepage (click home.svg Home in the left sidebar) or the group page (click the group name in the left sidebar).
  2. At the top right of the main section, click group-page-layout.svg Page Layout.
  3. At the top right of the Page layout panel, click translation.svg Manage languages.
  4. On the right of a language, click 3Dots.svg → Set as default language.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click Close.

Delete a language from a page

To delete the default and source languages, you must first select a new default and a new source language.

  1. Go to the homepage (click home.svg Home in the left sidebar) or the group page (click the group name in the left sidebar).
  2. At the top right of the main section, click group-page-layout.svg Page Layout.
  3. At the top right of the Page layout panel, click translation.svg Manage languages.
  4. To the right of the language you wish to delete, click 3Dots.svg → Delete.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click Close.

The configurable widgets on the page won't display in the learner's profile language if that language is no longer available.
