We're improving the search experience on the platform so you can search and find your content more easily.
The new Quick search experience introduces:
- A new search engine for improved relevancy
- A new search bar with a modern layout
- Chips to quickly filter the search results by category
- A new search results page where you can:
- filter content by type (internal/external courses, paths, program sessions, classrooms, users, groups, learning needs, activities), skill and language;
- open courses, paths, program sessions and classes, directly in their edition screen, or add them to playlists.
Opt in
Opting in allows you to test out the new Quick search experience and share your feedback. Your feedback will help us build the best search experience for you.
To become a beta tester, select I'M IN! when prompted and fill out the form with your information, or contact your Client Success Partner (CSP).
After you opt-in:
- The new Quick search is activated on all your company platforms.
- Access to the Discover page will be replaced by the search results page, which you can access by hitting ↵ Enter, or clicking SEE MORE RESULTS at the bottom right.
Search for content
You can use the search bar to search for courses, paths, program sessions, users, groups, learning needs, and activities.
- At the top right, click the search bar.
- Start typing what you want to search for. Results will appear as you type.
- If you can’t find what you’re looking for, hit ↵ Enter or click SEE MORE RESULTS at the bottom right to open the search results page.
Search for content within a group
If you’re clicking on the search bar from the context of a group (a group is selected in the left sidebar), the search will be restricted to content within that group:
- Courses shared in the catalog of the group.
- Paths shared in the catalog of the group, or with a session where the group is enrolled.
- Program sessions assigned to the group.
- Classrooms in path sessions or program sessions corresponding to the criteria just above.
- Subgroups of the current gorup.
- Users of the current group or subgroups.
- Learning needs owned by the group.
- Activities of courses shared in the catalog of the group.
You can click on the X at the right of the group name in the search bar to remove it.
Filter your search
Filter from the search bar
- At the top right, click the search bar.
- Just below the search text field, click on the chips to refine your search.
Filter from the search results page
- At the top right, click the search bar.
- Hit ↵ Enter or click SEE MORE RESULTS at the bottom right.
- At the top of the page, click on the chips to filter by type of content, then click Filter at the top right to further filter down by criteria specific to the type of content.
The table below lists all the available filters (when clicking the button Filter, at the top right of the page), and sorting criteria, per type of content.

The option Most recent corresponds to descending latest modification date.
By default, results are filtered by the language of your platform. You can change the language by clicking Filter → Languages at the top right of the page. If no elements correspond to your language, the filter is not applied.
Display rules
When you select the All chip, a maximum of 11 results are displayed in the Quick search:
- 3 courses
- 3 paths
- 3 program sessions
- 1 user
- 1 group
When you click a chip to refine your search by category, a maximum of 12 results are displayed in the Quick search. Within each category, the results are sorted according to their relevance.
The data refreshing happens daily. All indexed items are searchable the next day.
Visibility rules
Platform administrators can see all items in the platform. Other roles will see results based on their permissions.
Visibility rules for courses
A course can appear in search results when one of the following criteria is met:
- You are the main author or a co-author of the course.
- You are an author within the group that owns the course.
- You are a reviewer of the course.
- You are a translator of the course.
- You are the instructor of a program session containing the course.
- You are registered for a program session containing the course (individually or through a group).
- You are enrolled in a path session containing the course (individually or through a group).
- You are coach of a group where the course is shared within the coaches library.
- You are coach of a group where there is a program session registration.
- You are coach of a group where there is a program session shared in its Catalog.
- You are coach of a group where there is a program template within its coaches library.
- You are a member of the group where the course is shared in its Catalog.
- You are a member of a group where a path session containing the course is shared in its Catalog.
- You are a member of a group where one of its program sessions is shared in its Catalog.
Visibility rules for paths
A path can appear in search results when one of the following criteria is met:
- You are the main author or a co-author of the path.
- You are an author within the group owning the path.
- You are a translator of the path.
- You are enrolled in at least one active path session of the path or a parent path (individually or through a group).
- You are a member of the group where one of its active path sessions is shared in its Catalog.
Visibility rules for program sessions
A program session can appear in search results when one of the following criteria is met:
- You are the author of the session.
- You have been added as an instructor to the session.
- You are registered for the session (individually or through a group).
- You are registered as a trainer for a classroom slot that belongs to this session.
- You are coach of a group where there is a program session group registration.
- You are a member of the group where the program session is shared in its Catalog.
Visibility rules for classrooms
A classroom can appear in search results when one of the following criteria is met:
- You can see the path containing the classroom (see the visibility rules for paths).
- You can see the program session containing the classroom (see the visibility rules for program sessions).
Visibility rules for users
A user can appear in search results when one of the following criteria is met:
- You are a member of at least one common group with the searched user.
- You are the manager of the search user.
- You are the instructor of a program session assigned to the searched user.
- The searched user is an instructor in one of your program sessions.
Visibility rules for groups
A group can appear in search results if you are a member of this group.
Visibility rules for learning needs
A Learning Need can appear in search results if you are a member of the group linked to the Learning Need.
Visibility rules for activities
Visibility rules for course activities are the same ones as for courses.
Searchable fields
Every time you search for content on the platform, a relevance score is assigned to each of the returned results. The result with the highest score is returned first, and the result with the lowest score is returned last.
When searching for courses, paths, program sessions, users, groups, Learning Needs, and activities, your search is based on fields.
We want you to find what you're looking for. So, we increased the weight of some fields to make them more impactful.
