Opt in

Opting in allows you to test out the new Quick search experience and share your feedback. Your feedback will help us build the best search experience for you.

To become a beta tester, select I'M IN! when prompted and fill out the form with your information, or contact your Client Success Partner (CSP).

After you opt-in:

  • The new Quick search is activated on all your company platforms.
  • Access to the Discover page will be replaced by the search results page, which you can access by hitting ↵ Enter, or clicking SEE MORE RESULTS at the bottom right.

Search for content

You can use the search bar to search for courses, paths, program sessions, users, groups, learning needs, and activities.

Newly created items can take up to 2 hours to be visible in the search results. This is due to indexation delay.

  1. At the top right, click the search bar.
  2. Start typing what you want to search for. Results will appear as you type.
  3. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, hit ↵ Enter or click SEE MORE RESULTS at the bottom right to open the search results page.

Search for content within a group

If you’re clicking on the search bar from the context of a group (a group is selected in the left sidebar), the search will be restricted to content within that group:

  • Courses shared in the catalog of the group.
  • Paths shared in the catalog of the group, or with a session where the group is enrolled.
  • Program sessions assigned to the group.
  • Activities of courses shared in the catalog of the group.
  • Classrooms in path sessions or program sessions corresponding to the criteria just above.
  • Subgroups of the current gorup.
  • Users of the current group or subgroups.
  • Learning needs owned by the group.

You can click on the X at the right of the group name in the search bar to remove it.

Filter your search

Filter from the search bar

  1. At the top right, click the search bar.
  2. Just below the search text field, click on the chips to refine your search.

Filter from the search results page

  3. At the top of the page, click on the chips to filter by type of content, then click Filter at the top right to further filter down by criteria specific to the type of content.

When you select a filter, a corresponding chip appears at the top of the list of search results. You can click directly on the chip to remove the filter or edit it.

Searchable fields

Every time you search for content on the platform, a relevance score is assigned to each of the returned results. The result with the highest score is returned first, and the result with the lowest score is returned last.

We support prefix matching, but not wildcard search: this means that searching for "note" can display results for "notepad" and "notebook", but not "keynote".

When searching for courses, paths, program sessions, users, groups, learning needs, and activities, your search is based on fields.
